Janet Weinstein is Director of Outreach for Lighthouse Guild, the leading not-for-profit healthcare organization, based in New York City, dedicated to addressing and preventing vision loss through coordinated vision and health services.

 Ms. Weinstein is responsible for initiatives that advance Lighthouse Guild programs. This is accomplished through strategic targeted contacts, collaborations, partnerships and activities with organizations and individuals in the community throughout the New York Metropolitan area. Ms. Weinstein came to Lighthouse Guild in 1999.

Ms. Weinstein has extensive experience in not-for-profit human service organizations. Prior to working with Lighthouse Guild, she served as Director, Marketing and Communications with the National Center for Learning Disabilities.

She has also worked with the United Way of Tri-State, United Way of New York City, New York Lung Association and the National Society to Prevent Blindness.

Ms. Weinstein serves on the Board of the Greenburgh Public Library and the Mid-Hudson Valley Low Vision Network. She is also a member of The Executive Forum, the Caregiver Collaborative and Mid-Central Living Communities, programs of the Westchester County Department of Senior Programs and Services.

Previously Ms. Weinstein served as Vice Chair of the Planning Committee for United Way of Westchester and Putnam and was a member of the Community Advisory Board for WNET-TV (Thirteen). She received her undergraduate degree in English Literature & Rhetoric/History from the State University of New York at Binghamton and her MA, with a concentration in Communication, from The Ohio State University.

Ms. Weinstein lives in Hartsdale, New York.
